Aliens & Animals

102_1451

We are outside. It is a beautiful day. Sun shining. I am near some sort of fenced lot when the animals begin to roam. They have escaped. They are huge and attacking what seems like everything in sight. As I escape east, an animal tracks me down so I hold very still. I breath deeply. The animal passes. I make it back to the dorms where I find myself in a room that is not mine. I am only wearing a sort dress so I peruse the closet. It is filled with retro clothing maybe from eh seventies. I try on a mauve, long-sleeved button up shirt. I know I’ll need some sort of cold protection. I take the shirt and see that there is a dog in the room. I fear it is one of the wild alien animals and continue to treat it as such, however it doesn’t seem to pose any threat. I take a shower, hoping the dog will leave me alone. It just jumps in. Brian joins me (I am in room 19). We start to make love but hear a jeep

pull up outside of our window. The jeep crew, some of whom we may or may not know, offer to take us to a refuge. However we cannot tell the leaders “what we’ve done” or we will be negatively judged. I think we refuse. Now we are in Brian's car driving north with a few companions. On a busy street we see through a foggy sky, a fleet of quick-moving space ships do twisty, curvy maneuvers. They are blasting some announcement over their communication system. Brian and I are making fun of the address because it seems very obvious. Everything they say seems obvious. All of a sudden a blanket of snow and ice is on all you can see. We panic a bit and start looking for any extra clothing we can pile on. I still am wearing a short dress and the shirt from someone's retro closet. 102_1450 I spy a hat, one of those kind with fur on he inside. A girl we are with grabs it first but soon I spy another similar to it. After driving for a bit we realize that there is no more snow. We reach a mountain. The road to it, you can spot all sorts of perversely large animals. A result of the “Recent Panic”. We traverse a rocky path alongside the mountain. Inlaid eye level in the mountain side are short, wide windows. I look inside and see a classroom laboratory. The people inside don’t seem to be concerned about the “Recent Panic”.

I am at Suzette and Kenny’s house. I enter the basement through the sliding glass doors. Kenny is sleeping on the couch. As I go upstairs I am thinking about the safety of Maya and Mom. 102_1452 Suzette assures me they are safe. There is a black man smiling at me sitting on the couch. Sharon appears to be very frail. I tell Suzette i plan on walking back, but she insists on giving me a ride.

Sidewalk Ninja

We attempt to attend this public filming of a certain famous Asian news woman. We are all very excited. We must traverse a very steep hill to get to our destination. I decide to leave my bike halfway up the hill. We make it to the top and from there we can see the back side of the filming set. It now becomes increasingly difficult. There are a number of wide stairwells just before a series of moving sidewalks like you would expect in an airport. These sidewalks move fast and once once begins you cannot hesitate to jump on for they all move at different rhythms.102_1506 There were three others with me trying to get to the same place. I ninja style make my way across.

Fragments

There is a new place for us to live.

A stadium.

Bunk beds. Sheets. Water.

We are all gathered in theater style seating.

Nadra.

A younger man.

River Retreat

I am at some sort of lodge. I am working. Nadra and maybe Renee are here. They are staying and I am working. Suzette and Kenny are here as well. At some point we are in the river. The river or ocean we are swimming in is accessed by a tall wall/barrier. There is a ladder, wooden, you can climb to get in and out. It is dark, maybe dusk. We realize that the ladder is gone. The two people who swim with me are very worried, I dont' seem to share their panic. I use a little logic and we are safely up the ladder. "I can't believe we didn't realize the ladder was gone!"

In the lodge I go around doing various tasks. I have a sense that I'm half-assing my work. With all the distractions of everyone I know around. I pop in on Kenny for a bit and he is only interested in drinking his huge bottle of whiskey.

I am in some one's room that I should not be. There are many entrance in and out of the rooms in the lodge. In the end I am on a porch speaking with John Schleining.

What I Learned in the Village

We were on a camping expedition. Following different indigenous peoples around and learning from them. The last village we stopped at was dark when we arrived. The moon was full and the main area was quiet and deserted. We walked to the edge of the village just before a great field of brown grass. A tall fence surrounds the village comprised of tall sharpened sticks mostly. Atop two or four of the posts, sits some mammaloid creature. It's a golden color and has two short ears with a drooping head. A little boy walks up behind us before we have time to inspect the creature fully.

"What is this?" I ask the little boy.
"This is what keeps the lions away." says boy "It is their only son."
I look again to the lifeless mass in horror. A terrifying sense of corruption and disgust washes over me.
"You did this?" I ask the small boy with an amused look on his face.
"Yes, I did this." he offers gladly.

Fragments

I'm working at a department store. An Asian couple comes to my till. I comment on their choices of clothing, noting that each piece is either blue or yellow if not both. I inquire as to wether they are from Knappa. They say know and laugh. We carry on a whimsical conversation. They are very nice.

A strange man sits beside me on the bench. I am very uncomfortable being so close to him. He's very large, towering over me. I regret being nice to him earlier in the day. I walk off down the street and notice a very handsom man driving in a truck near me. I check to see if I look decent.

Field Trip

I'm on a trip with them. We're in an empty building. It's almost like an art gallery. There are two rooms as the whole building seems to be divided in half. The west side of the second room is covered in ceiling to floor glass windows. We're outside and we hear sirens. Men in uniform usher us inside of the building. I look ou the window and see a bus flying toward us. It has lost control and doesn't seem to be able to stop. It crashes into the glass as I roll, barely missing it's impact. I see it slide over many students and know they are dead. I get up to see the damage. The bus is gone. I look for any of my friends and when I see non are injured I to go to the next room. I find him. His back turned, unaware of the accident. I grab his shirt, look into his eyes and lead him to the glass room. When there I see her. We embrace and he joins in on the group hug.

Now we're on the concrete floor of the first room in sleeping bags. The room is filled with the surviving students. Our trip has been postponed. I can't sleep. My hair is long and in my face. I look to him and realize he is looking at me too. I act as if though he's startled me. Everyone is awake now and they decide to go outside. I begin to cry and act traumatized but I'm putting on a front. After they have gone, I decide I want to go. I leave through the door that has been covered in a plastic sheet. I don't think I was supposed to leave. I turn left on the sidewalk, realizing my purse is in her car. On my way to her car, a boy comes skateboarding by. I keep walking and he asks me if I brought my board. I tell him with a smile, "I don't even know how to skateboard!" He laughs and says he was talking to his friend. I change direction, realizing that I have taken the wrong path. I see them sitting on various platforms on the side of the building. They are watching the sky. I realize that it seems almost impossible to reach them. I move items on the platforms around, to make room for myself. I've lost hope.
